I think many of us need a space for softness, kindness and warmth these days. It’s so easy to fall into nihilism and hopelessness the way things are now, and difficult to remember that we’ve still got eachother. You deserve a space to recharge and feel loved and welcome.
🔥binge prevention masterpost🔥
i’ve learned a lot about binging and how to not binge over be past few months and since i’m 100+ days binge free i’m gonna share a few ways i did by fighting cravings, using distractions, how to get back on track and all that stuff.
preventing binges
beat cravings:
- drink water!!
- chew gum
- drink tea / coffee
- suck on a mint / lollipop
- chew on a straw (sometimes i just wanna chew and this helps)
- set a timer for 15 – 30 min and have some water. when the timer goes off, your cravings should be gone
distractions:
- workout!!!
- read a book
- fill in a few pages in a colouring book
- write in a journal
- go for a walk / run
- play w your pet
- go for a drive and play loud music
- smoke weed (how to beat munchies here)
- go window shopping
- ride a skateboard
- hang out w friends
- play an instrument
- clean / reorganise ur room
- meditate
- take a shower / bath
- take a nap
- just get away from the kitchen and food
day to day tips:
- get enough sleep. research says that getting inadequate amounts of sleep makes your metabolism slower and raises insulin levels, causing you to be hungrier. aim for 7-9 hours
- eat 3 small meals a day around the same time! get into a routine. your body will start getting hungrier at those times making it easier to eat at those times as well.
- meal prep and meal plan! having your meals planned out is great bc you have an idea of what you can eat. it’s good to plan at different meals for different cal limits too. meal prepping is great bc you have to eat what you’ve prepped, it’s already cooked and you know what’s in it
- keep binge foods out of the house. that’s just self explanatory. out of sight out of mind. but at the same time don’t deny yourself of all the good stuff. if there’s one thing i’ve learned since i’ve been binge free is moderation is truly key
if you do binge, please remember that it is not the end of the world. shit happens. but don’t let that one binge turn into 10 or 20 or so on. that one binge will not fuck up your progress. the only way you’ll fuck up your progress is if you let that one binge turn into a full blown binge cycle. take it day by day and be easy with yourself. take care of yourself if you do binge and please please please don’t purge. it’s not and never will be worth it. if you end up binging, take some deep breaths, drink some water, lay down and rest for a few and then get up and do a few lil exercises if you’re up to it or run a bath or watch your favourite movie. it’s up to you. stay safe and be careful y’all. message me if you need anything 🖤

Hey, do you know that feeling of hitching up a long skirt so you don’t fall on your face when walking upstairs, and then you immediately become a wretched yet resolute Jane Austen character? It’s a universal thing, right?
It’s like resting a laundry basket against your hip and suddenly you’re a long-suffering peasant woman, wondering if you’ll survive the winter.
a shawl wrapped around the shoulders and you’re wandering the moors in a Brönte novel, feeling melancholic
Looking out the window at the rain and you’re a love-stricken newlywed wondering when your husband will return from the war.
Long skirt billowing behind you while to go down the stairs, you’re a proper Lady in a flowing ball gown being introduced at a fancy social function.
Hair blowing in the wind and suddenly you’re hovering on a cliff by the sea, staring out into the waves and praying your merchant husband will return from his voyage across the ocean
Hood up against the rain and wind and you’re a medieval abbess defying the weather and travelling on foot with your people to find a place to establish a new community.
Wiping your hands on your apron and you’re an 18th century kitchen girl rushing to let in the delivery boy you secretly love.
The cool fall wind catches your skirt, sends leaves swirling around your feet, and catches your hair and sends it flying behind you, and suddenly you’re a enchantress roaming the woods, daring any man to challenge your power.
