What to do for the new year as a spiritual person

I thought to make a post on what me and my WHOLE family does when it’s close to the near year. We do this so that we welcome in good luck, abundance and prosperity along with wealth. It’s something that mainly my mom’s side has done for a very long time and good things happen from it (I also called this what to do for the new year as a spiritual person because me and my mom’s side of the family come from a long line of spiritual family members!)

 So first off!

  1. Go through your shit Like seriously. Get rid of things you no longer want or need. Like clothes, nick nacks, jewelry etc. Throw things away that is trash!
  2. Organize make things more nice and neat within your room/home. go through things to find out what needs to be taken out, trashed or placed somewhere else.
  3. Clean now with cleaning… You gotta do some serious shit. Make sure the dish washer is always empty and no dishes are in the sink (as best as you can). Your bed is made, your bath room is nice and clean, No piling trash etc. The point is, you have to try and stay clean as much as you can until it’s finally the new year and new month. Also wash your bedding and curtains if you have any.
  4. Cleanse my grandmother would make flour washes to welcome in prosperity and abundance. She (and my mom when she was younger) would even wash the walls too. You can play music, light a candle, burn incense, use sage, holy water, you can even use perfume or colonge to cleanse your place.
  5. Keep it looking spotless until the new year!

Something to note:

Now this is optional but is VERY helpful. My mom told me if you wish you can dedicate your place to who ever you work with. That your home is their’s as well. That you promise to keep it clean as possible in their honor for you know they don’t like dirty things. 

You could possibly even ask them to help bring in prosperity and abundance if you promise to keep the place clean in their honor most of the time. 

Cleanliness is next to godly-ness

Another thing, My grandmother would always buy new bedding and curtains and other stuff. In with the new and out with the old basically.

Celebrate the new year with your spirit friends, guardians or deities!

THINGS TO DO TO PUT YOURSELF IN A BETTER MOOD:

When energy feels stiff within or around you here are some things you can do to change the flow of energy:

INTERNAL ENERGY:

(sight, sent, taste, listen, touch, intuition) 

Sight- Observe e.g: art, educational video’s, read a chapter of your book     

Sent- Aroma e.g: incense, essential oils, potpourri

Taste- Indulge e.g: wholesome food, buy little snacks for yourself, go out for coffee and catch up with a friend 

Listen- Audio- e.g: binaural beats, sing to yourself, open the window; enjoy the birds chirping 

Touch- Contact- e.g: yoga, self-massage, cuddling with a pet      

Intuition- Knowing e.g: meditation, automatic writing, journaling   

EXTERNAL ENERGY 

(environment, people, nature, technology, education) 

Environment- Location e.g: rearrange your home, change your lunch routine at work, visit a new place with your friends no one has been to for breakfast

People- Others e.g: calling/seeing friends to catch up, connecting with family over dinner, bringing a co-worker a surprise (a snack or something you know they’d enjoy)    

Nature- Earth e.g: walking in the forest (barefoot=grounding; be careful of glass and shit), feeding squirrels, picking up litter     

Technology- Devices e.g: set reminders for pills, blue light is a bitch; makes it difficult to fall asleep; viral tip= no artificial intelligence 1 hour before bed, take a break from social media (if you are considering deleting an account it should be done in a calm state and not when you are emotional; you might feel different later. I did and regretted deleting accounts, whoopsie daisies!)  

Education- Information e.g: learn something new everyday, everyone is your teacher, mainstream media is used as part of an agenda; confusion and chaos, become aware of your conditioning and how you want to re-program yourself   

Internal effects external and vice versa. Which dominates? The energy with the strongest belief. Change is the only constant, you can change anything. You can choose to become anyone. Don’t let others who are insecure stop you from becoming what you desire. Insecurities are a projection of ones own failures, flaws, and blockages onto another. Be kind and confident in your abilities. Balance activities in your life so you can live healthy and full of love and abundance. You have to constantly clear out old energy for new energy to enter. It must become a habit for one to maintain balance.

Alright, we all fast. Some do it for 12 hours, some for 72 hours.

What happens when I fast?

First 3-6 hours:
-your body is using up all the sugar and carbs (glucose) in your body. You feel normal. It’s all good.

6-36 hours
-your body is now using fat cells (and will continue to do so after this point as well) but it’s not what your brain wants, so you might be craving foods like pasta and bread and very sweet things because your brain literally thrives on carbs and such

After 36 hours:
-your body is now using PROTEIN to get its energy, you might be experiencing muscle cramps because your body is breaking down muscles and fat to get the energy it needs.

Tips:
-drink water!! Not only does it keep you healthy but your body is losing a ton of water because carbohydrates cling to water, so when they’re being used, so is the water.

-drink 0 cal vitamin water. You need vitamins especially if you’re doing a particularly long fast. It keeps your brain healthy along with everything else.

-if you feel like you’re going to pass out, but do not want to eat, you may have low blood sugar. A spoon full of honey should help (or a small bottle of juice)

-after 36 hours of 0 cal fasting, if you still don’t want to break the fast, try doing a liquid one (so things like fruit juice, watered down tomato soup, almond milk etc)

-IF YOU ARE DRIVING DURING A FAST, DONT! Your reaction time, and overall reflexes/thought processes are hindered MAJORLY after about 15 hours.

-gum. sugar free gum is a life saver when cravings pop up (normally about 17 hours in for me)

-coffee/caffeine pills/diet pills are all great 0 cal appetite suppressants !

-0 cal sweeteners like Splenda can make water or green tea taste great.

After Fasting:

Your stomach should have shrank if you fasted more than 15 hours, so when breaking a fast:

-try something high carb, low cal, such as plain oatmeal (100) and half a banana with cinnamon (60)

-eat it slowly so that you have time to register that you’re full, a too full stomach after a fast hurts!

-then wait at least 3 hours before your next meal, which should include some protein

-make sure you don’t binge!!
