Witch Tips 8

Wow there’s already 200 of you??? How is this even possible?!?!?! I love you guys so much!

If you’re new here, welcome! And be sure to check out the tag #10tips on my blog for more of these things.

1. Buy loose leaf tea to make your own fusion teas

Herbs have all kinds of different properties that can aid you in your witchcraft. But sometimes you just can’t find the exact right tea for your needs. If you buy loose leaf tea, you can combine different flavors and different herbs to make your own teas. Make sure the flavors will compliment each other as much as the properties do! Haha

Bonus: loose leaf tea is essential for tasseography

2. When giving your witch friends a gift, don’t forget to cleanse it first

The same goes for if you’re donating something to a thrift store (tarot cards, jewelry that you’ve enchanted, etc) In a perfect world, everyone would remember to cleanse anything given to them for their witchcraft, but you can’t assume everyone will. Especially if you’re giving a baby witch some sort of starter kit or gift to get them started. It’s just important to make sure the item will be of good use.

3. The same goes for if you receive a gift as well or buy it for yourself

Just remember to cleanse away the previous owners energy & the energy of those have handled it beforehand. This especially is important if the item belonged (or could have belonged) to someone who has now passed. You don’t want to upset spirits.

4. Give witches a good name everywhere you go

We already have enough people associating us with the Christian “satan” and evil doings. If you’re open about your witchcraft and somebody treats you differently for it, don’t immediately jump to cursing them to prove you’re not to be trifled with. Don’t treat people with the same negativity and hate that they give to you. That doesn’t mean you have to roll over if someone attacks you or says something hurtful to you. I’m just suggesting the outcome will be better if you show them they’re wrong, rather than giving them what they want by being spiteful. Just take care of yourself first and make sure you’re doing what’s best for you.

5. Be careful about adding herbs to your ‘herb’

I’ve seen posts recently about adding different herbs to marijuana and smoking them. I don’t give a shit if you smoke weed, but I do give many shits about what you mix it with. While some plants are perfectly fine to eat and put on your skin, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re good for your lungs. Don’t sacrifice health for aesthetic. Research things before putting them in your body.

6. Natural foods stores have herbal infused everything

A few 10tips ago, I suggested getting herbal infused laundry detergent to infuse the properties of the herbs into your clothes/bedding. But you can take it even further by getting shampoos, body washes, conditioners, lotions, cleaning supplies, etc that are made with herbs to use in your craft. I’m a big fan of shower magick and shower spells because I freaking love showers. I suggest natural shampoos, etc because they’re more likely to have significant amounts of what you want and not just a little tossed in there for smell. Also, as a hair enthusiast I suggest to always buy sulfate free and silicone free. Not for any witchy reasons, but because it’s better for your hair.

7. You can make your own cleaning supplies with infusions of your choice

One of my friends makes a general countertop cleaner out of this recipe:

2/3rds water

1/3rd vinegar

A few drops of essential oils

You can use oils like peppermint to help ward off pests! Research the properties of other essential oils to find the right one for you. As you’re making your cleaner, be sure to stir clockwise to invoke or counterclockwise to repel, depending on what your intentions are with the spray. You can also put enchantments, sigils, and spells on the spray to help manifest your desired outcome. This can be anything you want, such as a peaceful home or high energy in the kitchen.

8. You can combine your daily cleaning with your witchy cleansing

A lot of witches struggle to find ways to add magick to their everyday life. And a lot of people in general find cleaning the house to be a big pain. Combining the two can make both tasks easier! Enchant your cleaning products like we talked about in tip 7. When sweeping, do spells for sweeping out negative energy as well. Washing the windows can be part of a warding ritual. Get creative and try to add witchcraft to every aspect of your mundane cleaning day.

9. Research your astrology and numerology and then compare the two

This is a great grimoire project and make take a couple of days, so don’t get stressed if you feel like it’s too overwhelming to do it all at once. Maybe take one day for astrology, one for numerology, and one for comparing the two. Write it all down in your grimoire and learn a little about yourself. This can help you figure out which direction to take your craft in. And don’t get discouraged if the results clash. There are many sides to a person. You are more complex than even the stars may see.

10. Use knot magick while crocheting/knitting

What is a scarf but a bunch of elaborate knots? You can use knot magick whole crocheting or knitting in order to enchant the item you’re making. This is best when you’re making the item for yourself because you know exactly what you need.
